The IT department at Micron is looking for an experienced communicator to join our IT Communications and Learning team as a Content Developer. Do you thrive at using a variety of media to drive audience engagement and strategic messaging? We generate communication via newsletters, SharePoint online sites, webinars, videos, in-person town hall events, and more to ensure worldwide Micron team members are aware of and know how to use available IT tools, services, and capabilities.

One day will be spent interviewing an IT manager to get some basic questions answered, while drafting a communication plan, and the next may be spent choosing the right mix of media and information architecture to help a particular audience use collaboration tools more effectively. We work regularly with Micron teams both within and outside of IT to introduce new technologies, drive audience adoption, advise on the user experience, and manage organizational change. You should also be comfortable interacting with a diverse cast of characters – from long-time leaders to highly technical software engineers.

You will independently balance multiple activities at the same time, set priorities, and pivot to new tasks quickly. Creativity, organization, clear communication, and an eye for clean design are required. Be comfortable leading communication efforts and working as part of a globally dispersed team. Collaboration with peers, leaders, and global counterparts is crucial.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Develop and write effective IT communication by working with both IT and non-IT partners for email messaging, newsletters, presentations, SharePoint site content and training materials.

  • Identify key content objectives within a project and build a strategic plan and timeline to deliver that content.

  • Break down large, complex technology deployment information into clear, concise communication and training content for a broader audience.

  • Familiarize yourself with Micron’s corporate and IT brand guidelines. Establish project-specific ‘brands’ and carry those through multiple media vehicles (i.e., web, presentation, email, video, etc.).

  • Independently research and quickly learn information to support quick moving projects and accommodate high levels of demand.

  • Support, assess, and communicate key changes and projects from IT that affect the rest of the global enterprise.

  • Some organizational change skills may be needed for larger projects.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication experience, problem-solving and critical thinking skills

  • Skilled with mixed media creation, design, video, etc. UX and UI exposure is a plus.

  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite. Photoshop skills are highly desired.

  • Experience with designing and publishing sites on SharePoint Online is a plus.

  • Experience with the M365 productivity suite and standard collaboration tools.

  • Experience with communication planning, consulting, training program, or content development required.

  • Project management experience; responsible for end-to-end project execution strongly desired.

Experience

  • Degree or certification in Communications, Organizational Comm, Marketing, Professional Writing, or any mixed media design

  • 5+ years of experience in communications and/or communication planning, marketing, or journalism

  • 5+ years of experience in SharePoint content development
