The Shift Equipment Engineer is responsible for monitoring, sustaining, and improving the equipment in their assigned area while working in partnership with Shift Ops team members, area engineers, and tool vendors. You will supervise tool performance, schedule, and perform preventative maintenance on assigned tool sets and use mechanical, electronic, and PC/software skills to solve and repair equipment issues.

Daily responsibilities

• Maintain current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues

• Study equipment performance and reliability and establish programs and solutions for growing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process

• Provide technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations and define and write preventative maintenance schedules

• Prioritize safety and quality by completing training and conducting all work according to safety policies

• Proactively communicates issues that could cause yield loss, excursions, defects, tool restrictions, or output loss by ensuring pass down is updated and accurately reflects the work performed and the tool's current statuses

• Provides solving support for complex problems to address root causes and provide effective and timely guidance to resolve equipment issues and is highly engaged in key problem resolution

• Supports a culture of TPM including TPM metrics, WS health reports, CIP items, MTAGs, MOP documents, and restoration guides

• Advances inventory issues to the 1st shift team including ATIR, dead inventory, kitting BOMs, spare, etc.

• Assists with equipment installs and engineering tests

• Partners with customers to develop hardware and software improvements

• Crafts reports summarizing equipment availability, variability, and cost-reduction projects

• Tracks actions and provides issue path or resources to ensure actions will be completed on time to support department business processes for new tool installations, modifications, and removals

Qualifications

• An education in science, engineering, related field of study, or equivalent military experience

• Basic PC skills including MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Prioritizes safety and quality

• Project management and planning skills

• Problem-solving skills

• Communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
