Job Description Summary:

As a Design Validation Product Engineer in the DRAM Technology group, you’ll be part of a forward-thinking team of engineers dedicated to solving complex problems and developing industry-leading DRAM solutions. In this role, you’ll leverage your in-depth understanding of semiconductor functionality and expert knowledge of internal product architecture to validate next-generation DRAM products. Your responsibilities will include debugging and validating semiconductor circuits using simulations, data analysis, and lab tools. As a key interface between various internal departments (Design, Test, Technology Development, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and Business Units), you’ll play a crucial role in Micron’s DRAM scaling roadmap—from the design phase through initial bring-up, qualification, and volume production.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with various Engineering, Manufacturing, and Business Units groups to define and validate product specifications and requirements for next-generation memory devices.

  • Support design verification through in-depth circuit analysis using CAD tools and simulations.

  • Create internal architecture documentation based on schematics and layout knowledge.

  • Understand JEDEC specifications to ensure product requirements.

  • Develop a validation flow to identify design marginalities and recommend fixes for circuit-related issues.

  • Conduct electrical failure analysis to understand the root cause of device marginalities or failures.

  • Utilize engineering lab equipment and testers for device characterization and electrical failure analysis.

  • Support reliability and qualification activities to ensure lifetime device performance.

  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to optimize test yield and ramp products into high volume.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent).

  • Familiarity with DRAM architecture, operation, testing, design, and process.

  • Circuit-level simulation expertise (Verilog/Analog).

  • Proficiency in Cadence schematics and layout.

  • Experience with shell scripts (Perl, Unix, Batch, Python, etc.).

  • Strong data analysis and visualization skills.

  • Effective written and spoken communication abilities.

  • Good organizational skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical capabilities.

  • Project management proficiency.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Self-motivation and passion.
