Our Opportunity Summary

As a DRAM Engineering Group (DEG) Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. This includes simulating, optimizing, and floor planning DRAM circuits. In this position you will work and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products to optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction. You will also be responsible parasitic modeling and assisting in design validation, reticule experiments and required tape-out revisions.

Contribute to th e Desig n and Layout of New Memory Products

  • Implement device specifications and create innovative circuit solutions.

  • Design digital and analog circuits using CMOS logic gates and transistors.

  • Create floorplans that optimize for the best circuit placement, signal routing, and power delivery.

  • Design memory core circuits and optimize for sense margins, array timings, and die size.

  • Prepare design documentation for other engineers to use.

DRAM Circuit Verification

  • Using Spice and Verilog, simulate to verify proper circuit operation.

  • Analyze circuits for power consumption, speed performance, and reliability.

  • Model layout parasitics in the simulation and verify proper signal routing and power supply connections.

DRAM Circuit Validation

  • Assist in silicon design validation and debug.

  • Analyze results to confirm simulation to silicon correlation.

  • Identify schematic edits for design revisions.

Maintain Technical Expertise and Provide Training / Mentorship (MTS)

  • Communicate best known practices to the team.

  • Contribute and participate in Critical Reviews and Design forums.

  • Participate in recruiting and interviewing of new candidates.

  • Work with Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, CAD, and Product Engineering to support the product’s qualification.

Manage Project Activities (SMTS)

  • Manage design and layout resource allocations.

  • Serve as point of contact for design, layout, verification, and testing issues.

  • Monitor progress and track completed and overdue tasks.

  • Prepare project status reports for upper management.

  • Plan and hold design reviews to discuss progress and decisions made about project.

How to Qualify

  • BS & 8+ years or MS & 5+ years of experience

  • Successful candidates for this position will have:

  • Course work in CMOS Circuit Design and VLSI

  • Course work in Analog Circuit Design

  • Knowledge and Experience using Cadence Virtuoso

  • Understanding Physical Layout & Circuit Floor Planning

  • Experience Simulating with Hspice and Verilog

  • Understanding of Device Reliability

  • Excellent Problem-Solving and Analytical skills
